Reviews
The complexity of the 25+ pieces in this book range from 2-handed C and G position (with occasional reaches to 6ths) to some basic chord + melody. The songs include instructional pieces written by well known composers including Handel and Czerny and some simplified/transposed arrangements of larger works. These songs were not selected for their popularity, but to illustrate different techniques, which slowly build throughout the book. Nevertheless, they are more interesting musically than many similar efforts at this difficulty level. Much of the complexity and interest comes from the contrasting dynamics, rhythm and tone between the two hands, which is emphasized throughout the book.
